Lajjalu or Mimosa Pudica(Touch me not) is a creeping annual or perennial herb is folded in wards, shut and sag when they are touching. It is an ayurveda medicine contains anti-asthmatic, aphrodisiac, analgesic and antidepressant properties. Lajjalu is found in empty places under trees and shrubs. To avoid many disease the root, leaves and seeds of lajjalu are use.


Most effective in Sopha (Inflammation), Daham, reparative difficulty,Vrana. Also reduces kapham and purify the blood. It mainly possesses antibacterial, anti-venom, anti-fertility, anticonvulsant, antidepressant, aphrodisiac and various other pharmacological activities. This medicinal herb has been used traditionally for ages, in the treatment of urogenital disorders, piles, dysentery and sinus, also applied on wounds.


Lajalu plant contains different kinds of chemical constituents. Ten percent of tannins are present in the Root and also the Seed contains galactose and mannose.


The herbal palnt is use in wound healing, bleeding piles, Ulcers, infertility, Diarrhea, inflammation, Diabetes, Urinary Disorders, Bacterial infection, Viaral infection, Fungal infections and very effective in protecting the liver from toxicity.


Diarrhea or Atisar caused   due to unhealthy food, impure water, toxins mental stress and also weak digestive fire. Hence these sever vata leads to formation of Ama and bring fluid in the intestine from various tissues from the body and mix with stool. Hence Lajjalu posse’s kapha balancing property that helps to digest ama and improve digestion. So this helps to manage diarrhea.


Piles or Arsh are cause by an unhealthy diet and inactive lifestyle. It may leads to the disability of all the three doshas. The Sevier vata causes a low digestive fire, leads to constipation.  This causes swelling in the veins in the rectum area leading to pile mass. The show the symptoms like pain, itching and burning. Lajjalu have pitta and kapha balancing properties that helps to manage piles. And also cooling nature and Astringent property helps to reduce burning and discomfort.


Dysentery due to improper eating habits and digestive fire leads to the imbalance of kapha dosha. So this results in the accumulation of Ama hence this mixed with the stool and causes borborygmus. The kapha balancing property of lajjalu is also helps to digest Ama and reduce the symptoms of dysentery.
